he Lady Knights won the AISA AA Region 1 championship tonight, defeating Eastwood in a 3-1 match (25-15, 25-20, 24-26, 25-16) and Lee-Scott 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-15) to clench the title for the second year in a row.
Sophomore, Deven Kennedy was named to the All-Tournament Team while freshman, Lexi Brantley was the Tournament MVP.
Kennedy led the team in kills with 30, followed by Blue Caldwell with 25, Jesi Garrett with 13, Morgan Pounds with 8, Ashley Mathis with 5, Lexi Brantley with 3, and Haley Grant with 1.
The Knights' serves were hot tonight with a team total of 33. Brantley had 17 of them, followed by Kennedy with 5, Caldwell with 4, and Mathis with 3.
Anna Marie Pugh contributed 2, while Garrett and Savannah Henderson each added 1.
Brantley had 85 assists and Garrett led the team with 13 blocks. Pounds and Brantley added 12 more to make the team blocks total 25.
Macon's record is now 22-3. They will play in the State Final Four on Saturday morning at Faulkner University. The Lady Knights will take on the Region 2 number 2 team at 11:00 am, and the winner will then play for the AISA AA State Championship at 2pm.

The JV Lady Knights traveled to Alabaster, Alabama this weekend to compete for the Junior Varsity State Championship. After battling through 2 games, the Lady Knights found themselves in the State Championship match. They clinched the win in 2 sets giving MEA and Coach Amanda Smallwood the first JV State Title for the school.

Macon East won tonight in their final match of regular season play beating Ft Dale 3-0( 25-20, 25-12, 25-12)
Tonight was senior night and the team's four seniors were recognized for their years of service to Lady Knight Volleyball.
Lexi Brantley led the team in aces tonight with 7, followed by Anna Marie Pugh and Deven Kennedy each with 4, Abby Adams with 3 and Ashley Mathis with 2.
Seniors, Abby Adams ad Ashley Mathis each had 6 kills, followed by Blue Caldwell with 5, Jesi Garrett with 4, Deven Kennedy with 2, and Morgan Pounds and senior, Savannah Henderson, each with one.
The Knight' s record is now 19-3.

Macon-East won tonight at home against Lee-Scott Academy in a close 5 game set (23-25, 28-26, 25-18, 14-25, 15-7). This was a big accomplishment after coming off a 5 game loss to Morgan Academy on Monday.
Blue Caldwell led with 11 kills, followed by Deven Kennedy with 10, Morgan Pounts with 8, and Jesi Garrett with 7. Lexi Brantley had 5 aces, while Caldwell and Ashley Mathis contributed 3 each.
Macon East will hold the final game of the regular season on Thursday, and will be celebrating Senior night and a "PINK OUT" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. MEA's record is now 18-3. Region playoffs and tournament will be held next Monday & Tuesday (10/15 & 10/16) at Macon East Academy!

Macon won again tonight over Pike Lib in a 3-0 match (25-15, 26-24, 25-17).
The team had 10 aces: Lexi Brantley led with 5 and Deven Kennedy with 2. Anna Marie Pugh, Ashley Mathis, and Blue Caldwell each had 1.
Macon East had a team total of 36 kills; Deven Kennedy led with 12, followed by Blue Caldwell with 8, Jesi Garrett with 7, and Morgan Pounds with 6.
The Lady Knights' record is now 17-2 with three regular season games left to play. They will face Morgan on the road Monday, then host Lee-Scott at home on Tuesday. Senior night and a "pink out" will be held on Thursday 10/11 against Fort Dale at home.

Macon won tonight against Glenwood in a 3-0 match (25-7, 25-7, 25-16).
Blue Caldwell led with 8 kills, followed by Deven Kennedy with 6 and Jesi Garrett with 5.
Caldwell also led with 7 aces, followed by Lexi Brantley and Abby Adams with 4 each.
Morgan Pounds had 2 blocks against Glenwood.
Macon's record is now 16-2 and we will play Pike at home on Tuesday night.

Macon improved its record tonight to 15-2 after winning a 3 game set over Fort Dale (25-7, 25-7, 25-5).
Deven Kennedy and Jesi Garrett led the team with 7 kills each, followed by Blue Caldwell and Abby Adams with 3 each. Garrett had 3 blocks and Morgan Pounds had 2.
Blue Caldwell led the team with 12 aces, followed by Anna Marie Pugh with 7. Pugh made six consecutive aces in a run of fifteen serves in the third game.

The Lady Knights traveled to Pike Liberal Arts School on Monday to take on the Lady Patriots. The MEA JV girls defeated the Pike JV girls in a 2-0 match.
The Varisty Lady Knights followed with a 3-0 Victory over the Lady Patriots improving their record to 14-2.

The Macon East Knights volleyball team won the "show up and show out" tournament hosted by Hooper Academy at the Capitol City Junior's sportsplex on Saturday.
After finishing as the #1 seed in their own pool and #2 out of the 12 team pool, the Knights had a bye into the second round of play. In a best 2 of 3 game match, they defeated Clarke Prep 2-0 (25-9, 25-19) and Eastwood 2-0 (25-18, 25-18) to win the tourney.
Blue Caldwell was named Tournament MVP and led the team with 32 kills in the day and 12 service aces. She also had a great day passing the ball.
Deven Kennedy and Anna Marie Pugh were named to the All Tournament Team. Kennedy had 30 kills and 5 aces, while Pugh had 3 game winning aces and both had numerous digs in the back court.
Lexi Brantley also had a great tournament and ended the day with 113 assists, 5 kills, and 16 aces.
Morgan Pounds contributed 17 kills, followed by Jesi Garrett with 11.
Each of the Lady Knights worked hard and contributed to the day's success. Their sense of teamwork and ability to feed off of each other's strengths was evidenced throughout their play.
Their record is now 13-2 as they head into next week's games Monday and Tuesday against Pike and Fort Dale on the road. Then they will face Glenwood at home on Wednesday.

Macon won tonight in 3 sets over Crenshaw Christian. 25-13, 25-12, 25-6.
Blue Caldwell led the team with 7 aces, followed by Lexi Brantley with 5 and Ashley Mathis with 4.
Savannah Henderson had 6 kills, followed by Blue with 5 and Lexi with 4.
Anna Marie Pugh had 4 digs and ended the match with a service ace.
Record is now 10-2 heading into tomorrow night's match at Edgewood Academy.

Deven Kennedy led with 12 kills; Blue Caldwell had 6 and Lexi Brantley had 4.
Lexi had 8 aces and Blue had 6.
The Knights' record is now 9-2 and they will play at home on Monday against Crenshaw at 5 PM.

Lexi Brantley had 39 assists
Anna Marie Pugh led the team in serving with 6 aces.
The Lady Knights will head to Hooper Thursday night with a record of 8-2.

After winning the "serves up" tourney at Eastwood Christian last weekend, macon looked good as they prepared to take on Morgan tonight at home.
Macon swept Morgan 25-15, 25-18, 27-25.
Lexi Brantley, who was named tournament MVP, led the Knights tonight with 105 assists, and 3 block assists. She also had 6 kills.
Blue Caldwell led in kills with 18, followed by Deven Kennedy with 8.

The Macon East Lady Knights participated in the 2012 ECS Aloha Tournament hosted at the CCJ complex in Montgomery over the weekend. Late Saturday evening, The Lady Knights were crowned Aloha Tournament Champions. Congratulations to Freshman, Lexi Brantley, who was named Tournament MVP. Also, congratulations to the rest of the Lady Knights and to Coach Smallwood on the tournament win!
