Macon East defeated Lee-Scott 3 games to 2 in their best of 5 Region Championship match to claim the East Region title. This is the first volleyball region title for the Knights in school history. Senior Haley Floyd was named to the All-Tournament Team and senior Sarah Peacock was named Tournament MVP. The Knights play in the State Final Four Saturday, October 29 at 4:30 PM at Faulkner University. Congratulations to Coach Smallwood and the Knights and good luck at State!

The Varsity & JV Volleyball teams traveled to Auburn, AL to take on the Lee-Scott Warriors. The JV won in 2 sets, but the Varsity got beat in 3.

Congratulations to the 2011 Junior Varsity Volleyball team for placing 3rd at this year's 2A JV State Tournament!! The Junior High finishes the season on Tuesday against Eastwood.

MEA DEFEATS PIKE IN JV AND VARSITY- The JV defeated Pike 2-0 to begin the afternoon, and the Varsity finished off the sweep for MEA winning their match 3-1.

The MEA Lady Knights defeated the Evangel Lions on Monday night witht he JV winning 2-0 and the Varsity winning 3-0. They are back in action on Tuesday at Pike.

The Macon-East Lady Knights participated in "Show Up & Show Out" Tournament sponsored by Hooper and CCJ on Saturday! They finished in 1st place! Congrats girls!!
Team members are Lexi Brantley (5), Savannah Henderson (15), Ashtyn Kennedy(14), Sarah Peacock(1), Whitney Springer(6), Victoria Henderson(12), Blue Caldwell (2), and Joy Funderburk (7).
Whitney Springer, Ashtyn Kennedy, and Sarah Peacock were all named to the All-Tournament Team and Blue Caldwell was named Tournament MVP. Congrats Whitney, Ashtyn, Sarah, and Blue!

MEA traveled to Fort Dale on Thursday afternoon to take on the Fort Dale Lady Eagles. The Knights came out on top of both matches. The JV won 2-0 and the Varsity won 3-0.

The MEA Lady Knights took on the Crenshaw Cougars Thursday afternoon. The Varsity and JV Lady Knights were victorious in both matches winning 3-1, and 2-0, respectively.

The MEA Lady Knights played host to rival Hooper on Monday night in a much anticipated region match-up. Both the Junior Varsity and Varsity Lady Knights beat the Lady Colts. The JV Won 2-1, and the Varsity won in 3 straight sets.

The Varsity Lady Knights traveled to Camden, AL to take on the Wilcox Wildcats and came out on top in both games of the double header! The Lady Knights won in straight sets in each match 3-0, and 3-0. Congrats on 2 big region wins!

This past weekend, the Junior Varsity volleyball team brought home a runner-up trophy for their performance in the PCA JV Block Party 2011! Play started early Saturday morning as the Knights took on teams from host, PCA and Clark Prep in the first round of pool play. As the first seed, the Knights faced region opponent, Hooper in their first match, defeating them in two games. They then moved on to face Eastwood in the semi-final game, and won in an exciting finish of 25-19 and 25-16. The Knights faced the PCA Lady Panthers in the championship match and gave it a valiant effort, bringing home the second place trophy. Setter, Lexi Brantley was named to the All-Tournament team.
