Macon-East Varsity Cheer-Ready for the 2010 Season

     The Macon-East Varsity Cheerleaders are prepared and ready for the 2010 football season. They spent this summer preparing for the AISA Cheer Camp which was held the week of July 19-22 at Huntingdon College. At the camp they competed in Home Pom, Cheer, and Xtreme Routine evaluations. The squad received superior ribbons for their performances. They also attended classes for sideline chants, sideline dances, and stunting.

     Individual members of the squad also received special recognition. Morgan Leigh Dykes was selected as an AISA All-Star. She will represent Macon-East at the AISA All-Star football and basketball games.  Seniors, Meredith Waite, Sydney Everett, and Morgan Leigh Dykes were named UCA All-American Cheerleaders.  UCA (United Cheer Association) began a new program this year. It is entitled “Pin It Forward”. This program recognizes cheerleaders who exemplify outstanding leadership skills during the week of camp. The UCA staff selected Morgan Leigh Dykes and Sydney Everett for this honor.

     The Macon-East Varsity Cheerleaders are looking forward to an exciting season. They invite you to join them on Friday nights at 7:00 PM to support their Knights. A schedule of games can be found on the Macon-East website at maconeast.net.
