MEA LADY KNIGHTS CROWNED BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPIONS!!
Saturday, October 20, the Macon East Lady Knights competed in the 2A State Tournament. MEA defeated Kingwood Christian in 3 sets to advance to the State Championship match against Morgan Academy. Macon East won the match in 3 hard fought sets. Deven Kennedy & Morgan Pounds were named to the All-Tournament Team and Blue Caldwell was named State Tournament Most Valuable Player! Congratulations to Coach Amanda Smallwood and the Lady Knights on an incredible season!
MACON EAST LADY KNIGHTS WIN 3A SOFTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

May 5 marked the end of an incredible 52-8 season for the Macon East Lady Knights. On Friday, the Lady Knights defeated Tuscaloosa Academy 8-0 in game 1, Wilcox Academy 6-2 in game 2, Jesi Garrett hit her 6th homerun of the year. On Saturday, MEA defeated Glenwood in the 10AM game. Trailing 1-0 going into the bottom of the 6th inning, the Lady Knights had bases loaded, no outs with Senior, Haley Floyd, coming to the plate. On the 2nd pitch of the at-bat, Floyd hit her 6th homerun of the year over the center field fence giving the Lady Knights the 4-1 victory, sending them to the State Championship game. At 2:00, the Lady Knights, once again, found themselves up against their region foes, the Glenwood Gators. MEA jumped up early and never looked back, and defeated Glenwood 11-0 to win the Class 3A State Championship. 8th Graders, Jesi Garrett & Paxton Searle, and Senior, Haley Floyd were named to the State All-Tournament Team. Freshman, Bailey Singleton, was named State Most Valuable Player.
